Marble and Granite

Customer Guide

STEP 1 - SELECTION
Visit the RSK Marble and Granite Showroom to look at different stone samples and see our various countertop, vanity and fireplace installations. A RSK sales representative will answer your questions, help you select the type and color of stone for your job and provide a timetable for completion.
STEP 2 - ESTIMATE
Provide RSK with a rough architectural drawing of your project. This should include all dimensions for surfaces where stone will be used, including countertops, islands or peninsulas, backsplash areas, vanities, surrounds and returns. Our sales representative will develop a job estimate based on the type and color of stone that you choose.
STEP 3 - VERIFY
A RSK Production Designer will verify all measurements for your job on site. We use this quality control step to make sure your job is produced to exact specifications. The measurements are used to make wood and mylar templates for the entire surface area where stone will be applied.
STEP 4 - LAYOUT
Our Fabrication Department lays the templates for your job on the stone slab you have chosen. You are welcome to look in on this process to see the pattern and colors where the cuts will be made and make adjustments if necessary.

STEP 5 - FABRICATION
The stone slab is cut and edges are fabricated in our shop. Surfaces are honed and polished
and the pieces are carefully crated for shipment to your job site.

STEP 6 - INSTALLATION
RSK Installers mount the fabricated stone and
seal the surfaces.

STEP 7 - FOLLOWUP
We ask you to fill out and return a project evaluation to rate our job performance. Our goal is always 100% customer satisfaction. Finally, referrals are always welcome and appreciated!

Maintenance & Care
Care and Cleaning Tips for Natural Stone
Cleaning granite countertops is a necessity. Stone is a natural product, and therefore requires attention. Simple caring for granite countertops and other natural stone surfaces will keep them looking beautiful for many years.

The following recommendations for routine care and cleaning were published by the Marble Institute of America. For more information, visit the MIA website at  www.marble-institute.com.
Precautions:
• Use coasters under glasses, particularly those containing alcohol or citrus juices.
Many common foods and drinks contain acids that will etch or dull the stone surface
• Do not place hot items directly on the stone surface. Use trivets or mats under hot dishes and place mats under china, ceramics, silver or other objects that can scratch the surface.

Do's:
• Do clean surfaces with mild detergent or cleaners specifically made for natural stone
• Do thoroughly rinse and dry the surface after washing
• Do blot up spills immediately

Don'ts:
• Don't use ammonia based cleaners
• Don't use vinegar, lemon juice or other cleaners containing acids
• Don't use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout
cleaners or tub & porcelain tile cleaners
• Don't use abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers
